Two Minor Girls Missing in Ludhiana After Leaving Home to Buy Birthday Supplies; Family Fears Abduction, Police Examining CCTV Footage

Ludhiana: A case involving the disappearance of two minor girls under suspicious circumstances has come to light in the Jamalpur area of ​​Ludhiana. The two girls had left home to purchase birthday supplies but failed to return. Their family members have expressed fears that they may have been abducted.

The whereabouts of the two teenagers remain unknown. The Jamalpur police station has registered a case against an unidentified individual and has initiated an investigation.

Went to Tajpur Road to Buy Birthday Supplies

In a statement given to the police, the complainant, Jyoti Devi, stated that on May 26, 2026, her daughter, Ashika Kumari (13), left home along with her friend, Khushi Kumari (16), to purchase birthday supplies on Tajpur Road. When the two girls did not return home even after a considerable amount of time had passed, the family began searching for them.

The family members conducted an extensive search among relatives and in the surrounding areas, but they found no trace of either girl. Subsequently, the matter was reported to the police. The family alleges that an unidentified individual has taken custody of the two girls with malicious intent and is holding them captive at an undisclosed location.

In connection with this case, the Jamalpur police station has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against an unidentified accused under Section 127(6) of the BNS (Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita). The police are currently examining footage from CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity, and raids are being conducted in an effort to locate the two girls.
