Two real brothers die of electrocution in Kurukshetra; son critically injured while attempting to save them

On Friday, three members of the same family were electrocuted in Dhantodi village, Kurukshetra district, after coming into contact with a live transformer wire during the rain. All three were admitted to a private hospital in critical condition; two of them—biological brothers—have since died.

According to reports, Binder Ram (son of Maniram), a resident of the village, was the first to be struck by the electric current. It is believed that the current had spread to the transformer’s power line due to the rain. When Binder Ram was caught in the current, his brother Nathi Ram rushed to save him. However, as soon as he attempted to free Binder Ram, he too was electrocuted.

Seeing both men writhing in pain, Nathi Ram’s 35-year-old son, Ladi, stepped forward to help. As soon as he tried to free his father and uncle, he also fell victim to the electric current. Within moments, three members of the same family had been struck by the powerful electric shock.

Following the incident, bystanders raised an alarm and managed, with great difficulty, to separate the three men from the source of the current. Family members and villagers immediately rushed them to the local Aggarwal Hospital; two of them died during treatment, while the third remains in critical condition.

A crowd gathered in the village as news of the accident spread. Villagers noted that extreme caution is required around power lines and transformers during the rainy season. Preliminary information suggests the accident occurred because the current had spread to the transformer wire due to the rain.
