Two sisters die on wedding day, mourning erupts before wedding procession arrives

Manai: The death of two sisters on their wedding day in Manai village, under the Sursagar police station area of ​​Jodhpur, caused a sensation. The two women were to be married on Friday, and the wedding procession was to arrive on Saturday. After their health deteriorated late at night, they were taken to a private hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

 Health deteriorated in the evening, died in hospital

According to ADCP West Roshan Meena, Shobha Singh (25) and Vimla Singh (23), daughters of Deep Singh, a resident of Manai village, fell ill around 5:30 pm on Friday. Their condition worsened after midnight. The village compounder advised them to be taken to the hospital immediately. At around 3 am, the family took them to a private hospital in Jodhpur, where both were declared dead.

The family brought the bodies home and began preparing for the funeral.

Police stopped the funeral, conducted a postmortem

The girls’ mother informed her brother, Jaswant Singh, about the incident at 5 a.m. Jaswant Singh informed the police. Police arrived in the village at 6 a.m. and stopped the funeral. Both bodies were sent to the MGM mortuary for postmortems. After the postmortems, the bodies were handed over to the family.

Police say the cause of death is being investigated.

Uncle’s allegation: Both were unhappy with the marriage

Jaswant Singh’s uncle alleged that both nieces were unhappy with the relationship. He said a previous marriage had been arranged, but some family members broke it off due to “grab-and-go” (aata-saata) (illegible) issues. He alleged that the marriage was arranged under pressure from Deep Singh’s younger brother.

The uncle said that he was told in the morning that both daughters had “done something,” but it is unclear whether it was suicide or some other reason. They have demanded a fair investigation and justice for the two sisters.
