New Delhi: Uber will set up its first data centre in India in partnership with Adani Group, ride-hailing firm’s CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said in a post on X on May 13.
Meeting Between Uber and Adani Leadership
Khosrowshahi said he met Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani in Ahmedabad to discuss expanding Uber’s existing partnership with the conglomerate.
“As India fast emerges as a leading innovation hub for Uber, we are setting up our first data center in the country with the Adani Group to test and deploy our tech,” Khosrowshahi said in the post.
Data Centre to Boost India Operations
The facility is expected to be ready later this year and will help the company build technology products “at scale, from India, for the world”, he said.
The announcement comes as Uber continues to expand its technology and engineering presence in India, which has become one of the company’s key global markets for product development and innovation.
Existing Uber–Adani Partnership
Uber and Adani Group already have a partnership. In 2024, the companies announced a collaboration to deploy Uber’s electric vehicles on the Adani One platform and support mobility services across Adani-managed airports.
