Unclaimed Body Found in Panipat; Deep Injury Marks Raise Suspicion

In the Panipat district, near the highway in the Sanoli area, the body of an unidentified young man was found in a deserted condition. The body was discovered near Modern Polymers Company, close to Highway Number 709D, located between Kurad and Jalalpur Pratham.

According to the information received, passersby saw a young man lying unconscious and in a suspicious condition by the side of the highway. When they went closer to check, the young man’s body had deep injury marks and he was dead. The passersby immediately informed the local Sanoli police station without wasting any time.

Forensic and police team collected evidence, suspicion of murder

After this information of a possible murder in the Sonauli area, there was a stir in the police department. The local police station immediately reached the spot with a team. Considering the seriousness of the case and the injury marks on the body, an expert team from the Forensic Science Lab (FSL) was also immediately called to the crime scene.

Police and FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) teams jointly carried out action and thoroughly inspected the crime scene. The team collected several important scientific and physical evidence from around the body and the scene to piece together the details of the incident.

Suspicion of the body being dumped after murder

According to senior police officials, considering the condition of the body and the marks of injuries, it initially appears to be a case of murder. It is suspected that after killing the young man at another location, the body was dumped here by the side of the highway.

For identification, UP police are in contact with neighboring districts.

After completing the on-site paperwork and the inquest report, the police sent the body to Panipat Civil Hospital via ambulance, where it has been kept in the mortuary (dead house) for upcoming postmortem and identification. At present, the biggest challenge for the police is to identify the deceased. For this, the police administration is taking several steps.

Leveraging social media: Pictures of the deceased young man have been shared on various social media platforms and police WhatsApp groups so that someone can identify him.
Investigation of missing persons records: Recently filed missing persons complaints and records from all police stations in Panipat district are being examined.

Coordination with neighboring states: The Sonauli area is adjacent to the border of Uttar Pradesh (UP), hence the Panipat police have contacted police from neighboring districts as well as the UP police, so that the records of missing persons registered at the police stations there can be matched.
The police say that the real cause of death will be revealed after the post-mortem report comes, and once the deceased is identified, a murder case will be registered against the accused and further action will be expedited.
