Unidentified Woman’s Body Recovered from Kishangarh Branch Canal

Kishangarh, Haryana: The body of an unidentified woman was recovered from the Kishangarh Branch Canal near Kishangarh-Bas village late on 18 February 2026, police confirmed. The discovery triggered a full-scale investigation by local authorities.

 Police Reach the Spot, Begin Probe

Patrolling police noticed a floating body near the canal bank in the Karnal district and immediately informed higher officials. A patrol team rushed to the site, retrieved the body and cordoned off the area for examination.

The body was taken to the nearby civil hospital mortuary for post-mortem and identification procedures. So far, no official identity or missing-person report has been linked to the deceased woman.

 Investigation Underway

Senior police officers said the body did not show obvious signs of injury, and the exact cause of death would be ascertained through a post-mortem examination. Forensic teams have been called in, and investigators are examining the spot for evidence.

Efforts are ongoing to trace missing-person reports from surrounding areas to help identify the woman. Local police have also sought CCTV footage and are appealing to the public for any information.
