Jaipur, April 13: The Food Safety Wing, operating under the Medical and Health Department, issued an order today banning the sale and display of various products from 17 different brands across the state. These products include ‘Desi Ghee’ (clarified butter), tea, turmeric, roasted gram, and savory snacks (Namkeen). Among these, brands of ‘Ghee’ constitute the largest category.

Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, stated that samples of various food items were collected from different districts during April 2026 as part of various enforcement drives. Since the laboratory reports for these packaged food products indicated that they were “unsafe,” orders have been issued to ban their sale and display throughout the state for the next two months.

According to officials from the Food Safety Wing, regarding products manufactured in other states, letters have been sent to the respective Food Safety Departments in those states, requesting that action be initiated under the relevant Act against the manufacturing units or companies established there.

Two-Month Ban Imposed on the Sale of These Food Products:

•  “Kesar Bati” manufactured by M/s Ras Rasna Foods Pvt. Ltd., Bikaner, which is sold in the market under the brand name ‘Yuvraj Bikaner’.
• Tea leaves manufactured by M/s Shivshakti Tea Traders Pvt. Ltd. (Siliguri), West Bengal, which are sold in the market under the brand name ‘Bengal Gold’.
•  Sugar-boiled confectionery (colorful toffees) manufactured by M/s Nagad Narayan Foods Pvt. Ltd., Bikaner, which is sold in the market under the brand name ‘Nagad Narayan’.
• Turmeric manufactured by M/s Shri Sai Masalewala, Bharatpur, which is sold in the market under the brand name ‘Shri Sai Masalewala’.
• “Namkeen Tikha Meetha Mix” manufactured by M/s Balaji Wafers Pvt. Ltd., Rau-Pithampur Link Road, Indore, which is sold in the market under the brand name ‘Balaji’.
• Roasted gram manufactured by M/s RK Company, Gurugram, Haryana, which is sold at Reliance Retail stores under the brand name ‘Snack Tech’. Ban Imposed on the Sale of Ghee Produced by These Companies
