Man Accused of Killing Four Children and Their Mother Shot Dead in UP Encounter

Ambedkar Nagar: A man accused of murdering a woman and her four children in Uttar Pradesh’s Ambedkar Nagar district was killed in a police encounter early Monday, officials said. Two policemen were also injured during the operation.

Police Say Accused Opened Fire While Trying to Flee

According to Superintendent of Police Prachi Singh, the accused, identified as Aamir, was cornered after police received a tip-off that he was attempting to flee the district. Officers said he opened fire when asked to surrender, prompting retaliatory firing in which he sustained fatal injuries. Two policemen were hurt in the exchange.

Probe Linked Suspect to Quintuple Murder

Police said technical surveillance and investigation led them to Aamir, who was the prime suspect in the killings that shocked the district. The four children were found dead inside their home on May 2, while the body of their mother was recovered from a drain a day later.

Property Dispute, Obsession Suspected as Motive
