UP will soon be the first state to have a fire station at the tehsil level: CM Yogi

Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that soon Uttar Pradesh will be such a state in the entire country where there will be fire stations at the tehsil level. We have carried forward a program of comprehensive reforms in the law and order system.

The Chief Minister said this in the inauguration/foundation stone laying ceremony of 38 fire stations and flag off program of 35 fire fighting vehicles organized at his official residence on Thursday to strengthen the fire protection cover. During this, CM Yogi also visited the exhibition organized by the department and obtained information about fire fighting equipment from the officials.

He said that everyone is well aware of the role of fire services in times of crisis. Keeping this in mind, this department was formed in the state in the year 1944. Only 288 fire stations were established in the 73 years between 1944 and 2017, whereas 71 new fire stations were established in the last 7 years. Today, we have rapidly moved towards establishing one fire station each at the tehsil level in the state.

He said that soon Uttar Pradesh will be such a state in the entire country where there will be fire stations at the tehsil level. He said that we have taken forward the program of comprehensive reform in law and order. Besides, programs for their modernization have been taken forward in a time bound manner. The result of that is that today the fire department in the state is preparing itself to provide the best service in the emergency services of the state. We have given around Rs 1400 crore so far for strengthening the services of the department.

At the same time, by forming a special security force within the state, it has fulfilled the responsibility of protecting important buildings and institutions. By taking these efforts forward, the confidence of the people of the state, investors and tourists has to be further strengthened. Under this, fire stations will be established in the first phase at the district level and in the second phase at the tehsil level in one to one and a half years.
