UPI Now Accepted for Online Burj Khalifa Bookings, Making UAE Travel Easier for Indians

New Delhi: Indian travellers can now use the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) to make online bookings for At the Top, Burj Khalifa, as the iconic UAE attraction becomes the first in the country to accept UPI for e-commerce transactions.

The facility has been launched through a partnership between NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), the international arm of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), NEOPAY, and Emaar Entertainment.

Indian Visitors Can Book Burj Khalifa Tickets Using UPI Apps

With the new integration, Indian tourists can book tickets and experiences at the world’s tallest building through the attraction’s official website using UPI-enabled payment apps before travelling to the UAE.

The move expands the use of UPI beyond physical merchant payments and allows Indian visitors to complete their bookings digitally in advance.

The latest development builds on NIPL’s existing partnership with NEOPAY. Since the launch of QR code-based UPI merchant payments in the UAE in 2022, Indian travellers have been able to make payments at merchants across NEOPAY’s network.

UPI Expansion Strengthens India-UAE Digital Payment Link

NIPL Managing Director and CEO Ritesh Shukla said the initiative aims to provide Indian travellers with a simple and familiar payment experience while travelling abroad.

He said enabling UPI payments for online bookings at Burj Khalifa will make it easier for visitors to plan their trips using a trusted payment method even before reaching the UAE.

According to NIPL, the initiative supports the growing demand for convenient cross-border digital payments and strengthens the digital payment connection between India and the UAE.

Burj Khalifa Sees Large Number of Indian Visitors

NEOPAY CEO Vibhor Mundhada said the integration marks an important step in digital commerce between the two countries and makes NEOPAY the first company in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region to enable UPI acceptance for e-commerce transactions.

An Emaar Entertainment spokesperson said the introduction of UPI for online bookings will simplify the customer experience for Indian visitors, who form one of the largest international visitor groups at the attraction.
