US: The ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States, and regional powers has intensified dramatically, with reports suggesting that at least 1,230 people have been killed in Iran amid heavy strikes and military operations.

The growing crisis has also begun to affect neighbouring countries, as Azerbaijan accused Tehran of launching drone attacks on its territory and warned that such actions “will not remain unanswered.”

The developments have heightened fears of a broader regional conflict across the Middle East and the Caucasus.

Rising Death Toll in Iran

According to emerging reports, the death toll in Iran has crossed 1,230 people as clashes and airstrikes continue amid the ongoing war involving the United States and its allies. Several military facilities and strategic locations across Iranian cities have reportedly been targeted in recent attacks.

The strikes are part of an escalating confrontation that began after tensions between Iran and Western powers reached a critical level. Military infrastructure, government installations, and strategic defence sites have been hit in multiple regions of the country.

The rising casualties include both military personnel and civilians, though exact numbers are still being verified due to communication disruptions and restricted access in many affected areas.

Azerbaijan Accuses Iran of Drone Attack

Meanwhile, tensions widened when Azerbaijan accused Iran of launching drones into its territory. The drones reportedly struck areas in Nakhchivan, an Azerbaijani exclave bordering Iran, damaging infrastructure including the Nakhchivan International Airport and landing near a school.

At least four people were injured in the incident, according to officials. The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry strongly condemned the attack, calling it a violation of the country’s sovereignty.

Officials in Baku said the drones crossed the border from Iranian territory and targeted civilian infrastructure. Authorities have launched an investigation into the type of drones used and the circumstances surrounding the strike.

‘Attack Will Not Go Unanswered’

The Azerbaijani government warned that the attack would not go unanswered. The country’s Defence Ministry stated that it is preparing retaliatory measures to protect its territorial integrity and civilian population.

“These acts of attack will not remain unanswered,” the ministry said, adding that Azerbaijan reserves the right to respond appropriately to defend its sovereignty.

The government also summoned the Iranian ambassador in Baku to issue a formal protest and demand clarification over the incident.

Regional Tensions Continue to Rise

The conflict between Iran and its adversaries is now threatening to spill beyond the Middle East. Analysts warn that the involvement of neighbouring countries such as Azerbaijan could widen the confrontation into a larger regional crisis.

The situation is particularly sensitive because Azerbaijan maintains strong ties with Israel, including defence cooperation and energy partnerships. Iran has previously expressed concerns about Israel’s influence in Azerbaijan.

With military tensions rising and diplomatic relations deteriorating, global leaders are increasingly worried that the conflict could destabilise multiple regions simultaneously.
