US-Israeli strike on Iran

On Saturday morning, the US and Israel launched a joint military operation called “Lion’s Roar” against Iran. Israeli missiles struck several cities, including the Iranian capital, Tehran. The first casualties were reported of 40 female students in the Iranian city of Minab.

The US and Israel targeted Iran’s Intelligence Ministry, Defense Ministry, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, and the office of Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei. Khamenei was evacuated following the attack. In response, Iran attacked Israel with hundreds of missiles and drones. In retaliation, Iran targeted US military bases and warships in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and Iraq, in addition to Israel.

A total of seven Islamic countries, including Iran, are currently at war. Countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain have stated that Iran’s audacity will be met with a retaliatory strike. Israel and the United States aim to end Khamenei’s rule in Iran and prevent Iran from developing a nuclear bomb.

Donald Trump has described the attack as a step taken to protect American citizens. The dispute is primarily about Iran’s declared pursuit of a nuclear power, and Trump does not want Iran to acquire nuclear power, disrupting the balance of power in the Middle East. Iran’s support for Hamas and its stance against Jews are no secret.

Iran has repeatedly ignored Trump’s threats, warning of dire consequences if Iran develops a nuclear bomb. The targeting of the American base clearly indicates that Iran is also in a full-scale war.

Israel has made arrangements to safely evacuate its citizens to bunkers. Meanwhile, an advisory has been issued for Indians in Iran to leave as soon as possible. A state of emergency has been declared in Israel.

The entire Middle East is currently experiencing a terrifying war. Surprisingly, just a few days ago, Trump established a Peace Board to promote peace, and Trump was hoping to win the Nobel Peace Prize, calling himself the Messiah of Peace. The sudden involvement of seven countries in this war has brought misfortune to the citizens of those countries. Don’t forget that the Middle East is a major contributor to the world’s oil and energy supply.

If powerful Middle Eastern countries launch a fullblown war, its impact will not be limited to the Middle East. The heat of the war will surely reach other countries around the world. Developing countries may face energy shortages.

If we look at the war from the perspective of India and other developing countries, we are concerned about the young people of India who, due to Western sanctions and the Russia-Ukraine war, have migrated in large numbers to the Middle East in search of livelihood. But now the situation there is worrisome.

The involvement of so many Middle Eastern countries in the war does not portend a positive future for the common people. If the war escalates into a world war, who will come forward to resolve it? The message of peace is conveyed with wisdom, not by firing missiles at each other.
