Cairo: The United States has issued fresh security advisories for American citizens in nearly 10 Middle East countries, urging them to consider departing or be prepared to leave if the security situation deteriorates further amid heightened regional tensions.

The advisories were issued by US embassies in Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and several other countries, warning that the security environment remains unpredictable and could escalate without warning.

Embassies Warn of Possible Travel Disruptions

According to the security alerts, the current situation in the Middle East remains complex, with the possibility of sudden escalation.

US citizens in the region have been advised to remain vigilant, monitor local developments and prepare for possible flight cancellations, temporary airspace closures and other travel disruptions. Americans outside the region have also been urged to seriously reconsider travel to and through the Middle East.

Iran Says It Has Prepared Response Plan

The travel advisories came after Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that Tehran has prepared an extensive response plan against any potential attacks on its infrastructure.

According to the report, a senior Iranian security official said the plan includes targeting key Israeli infrastructure and US energy facilities in the Middle East if Iran comes under attack.

Regional Tensions Continue to Rise

The latest warnings come amid renewed exchanges of airstrikes between the United States and Iran after a brief pause, along with growing instability in the Red Sea involving Yemen’s Houthi movement and Saudi Arabia.

The region has remained on edge since the escalation earlier this year, when the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran, followed by retaliatory missile and drone attacks by Tehran on US and Israeli targets. The ongoing tensions have raised concerns over regional security and international travel, prompting the latest precautionary advisories from Washington.
