US Sends 50+ Fighter Jets to Middle East, 2nd Carrier Enroute

The United States has deployed more than 50 fighter jets, including advanced F-22 Raptors, F-35s and F-16s, to the Middle East within the past 24 hours, military aviation monitors and U.S. officials said. The jets were tracked heading toward the region along with aerial refueling tankers, signaling preparations for sustained operations.

The deployment coincides with a second round of indirect nuclear talks between the U.S. and Iran in Geneva, where both sides are seeking progress on Tehran’s nuclear programme.

 Second Carrier Strike Group on the Move

In addition to the fighter jet surge, the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier strike group one of the U.S. Navy’s most powerful assets has departed the Caribbean and is heading toward the Middle East, according to U.S. defence officials. The carrier is reported to be sailing with multiple guided-missile destroyers, further reinforcing American naval presence.

This movement would place two carrier strike groups in or near the region a strong strategic posture in light of ongoing diplomatic efforts and regional tensions.

Officials described the buildup as a significant reinforcement of U.S. air and naval capabilities in an already complex and volatile region. Analysts say the deployment serves both as deterrence and leverage: it enhances U.S. military readiness while underpinning diplomatic pressure on Iran amid nuclear negotiations and broader geopolitical tensions.
