Varanasi: In Uttar Pradesh, people are suffering from the intense cold. The slush and fog have made it difficult for people to leave their homes. The roads appear empty in the morning, with only office-goers seen heading to their destinations. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of cold day-like conditions for 32 districts of the state on Thursday. However, it has also stated that people may experience partial relief between January 9th and 11th.
Bonfires Common in Rural Areas
People are seen huddled around bonfires in rural areas of the state. While the weak afternoon sunshine over the past two days provided some relief, the chill persisted. Ayodhya and Azamgarh were the coldest areas in the state on Wednesday, with a minimum temperature of 5 degrees Celsius.
Weather Likely to Change From January 12
There are signs of partial relief from cold and fog in the state between January 9 and 11. This means that there will be a slight increase in the day and night temperature for three days from Friday. The density of fog will also decrease. From January 12, the weather will change with the temperature falling again.
