Patanjali’s “Soan Papdi” fails in quality test, 2 official arrested

Uttarakhand : In Uttarakhand Ramdev company Patanjali failed to qualify Soan papdi the quality food test. In this regard police has arrested two person of Patanjali company for 6 months.

On regular basis FSSAI checks the food quality of the product.

The Food Safety Department sent the elaichi soan papdi from Bedinag for testing on 17 october 2019 in laboratory . It has been found that the product failed to qualify the test.

District Judge Magistrate Sanjay Singh , Pithrogarh ordered for arrest of General Manager of Patanjali Ayurveda Limited Company and the distributor Kanha Ji Private Limited and a businessman were sentenced to six months each. The court also imposed a total fine of Rs 40 thousand on all three. If the fine is not paid, the culprits will have to face additional imprisonment.

The sample here was found to be of unsafe category. Not being satisfied with the test report of the state laboratory, Patanjali sent the sample to the referral lab Ghaziabad (Government of India) for testing. Here also the sample was unable to qualify the test, after which the Food Safety Department filed a case in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate on 28 July 2021.
