The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) announced its ‘Unconditional Support’ to the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led government formation bid. The announcement assumed significance as actor-politician C. Joseph Vijay’s TVK was very close to the majority mark required to form the next government in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly.
Sources said TVK has already secured the backing of several parties and now requires the support of just two more MLAs to comfortably cross the halfway mark.
The VCK has officially announced its support for TVK chief Vijay. With this, the TVK has reached the magical figure, the majority mark, in the State Legislative Assembly.
IUML also extends support to TVK
Along with VCK, The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has alos extended support to TVK, taking the alliance’s tally to 120.
VCK President Thol. Thirumavalavan handed over the letter of support to General Secretary Adhav Arjuna, who is managing the election campaign on behalf of the TVK.
