Vigilance Files 40,000-Page Chargesheet Against Bikram Majithia in disproportionate assets case

Mohali: The Vigilance Bureau today filed a chargesheet in a Mohali court against Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former minister Bikram Singh Majithia, who was arrested in connection with the disproportionate assets case in Punjab.

Vigilance has produced more than 200 witnesses in this case and investigated more than 400 bank accounts. It is being said that the charge sheet is of more than 40 thousand pages, which was brought to the court in four trunks.

The Akali Dal says that the challan will be studied only after it is presented in the court. It is worth noting that Bikram Majithia was arrested from Amritsar on June 25 and is currently lodged in New Nabha Jail.

Property worth Rs 700 crore is mentioned

According to the sources, the Vigilance has disclosed illegal and benign property worth Rs 700 crore in the charge sheet.

The charge sheet has been prepared after investigating 15 locations in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, UP and Delhi. Statements of many Akali and BJP leaders are also recorded in the charge sheet. At the same time, it is being claimed that the Vigilance has filed the charge sheet on time.
