Vijay Aggarwal Faces Three Separate UK Probes After Mayfair Arrest

London: The case involving Indian criminal lawyer Vijay Aggarwal has taken a fresh turn, with sources claiming that three separate authorities in the United Kingdom are examining different aspects of the matter.

The developments come after Aggarwal was arrested at a Mayfair property earlier this month amid allegations involving sexual assault, possible immigration violations and the reported recovery of a large amount of cash.

According to information obtained by WIC News, the three matters are being handled separately. The Metropolitan Police are investigating the sexual assault allegations, immigration authorities are examining whether Aggarwal was authorised to work in the UK, while the National Crime Agency (NCA) is reportedly looking into cash and documents allegedly recovered in connection with the Mayfair property.

Sexual Assault Case Listed Before Crown Court

The first investigation relates to allegations of sexual assault being handled by the Metropolitan Police.

Aggarwal, 57, has been charged with four counts of sexual assault involving two women following his arrest at a property on Brick Street, Mayfair, on August 11.

His personal assistant, Manpreet Kaur, 41, has also been charged with two counts of intentionally encouraging or assisting the commission of sexual assault.

Both appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 13 and were remanded in judicial custody. They are scheduled to appear before Southwark Crown Court on September 10 for further proceedings.

WIC News has also obtained additional images of Aggarwal’s residence, showing both the exterior and interior of the property.

    Immigration Status Also Under Scrutiny

A separate aspect of the case reportedly concerns Aggarwal’s immigration status and whether he was legally permitted to undertake professional work while in the United Kingdom.

Sources have claimed that immigration authorities are examining allegations that Aggarwal worked in Britain without the required permission.

If the allegations are established, he could reportedly face financial penalties of up to GBP 10,000, along with possible immigration-related consequences, including cancellation of his UK visa and removal from the country.

    NCA Examines Reported Cash, Documents

The third strand of the investigation reportedly relates to a substantial amount of cash and documents allegedly recovered in connection with the Mayfair property.

WIC News had previously reported claims that more than GBP 400,000 in cash was found, raising questions about its ownership, source and whether it represented payments allegedly received from clients.

Sources now claim that the National Crime Agency is examining the financial aspect of the matter, including documents allegedly recovered from the property.

There has been no public confirmation from the NCA regarding such an investigation. However, sources claim investigators are seeking to determine whether the material could point to a wider network of financial transactions.

Some of the material is also reportedly said to contain references to high-profile individuals from India and the Caribbean. Investigators are allegedly examining the source, purpose and circumstances surrounding the payments, as well as the individuals whose names may have appeared in the documents.

Findings Could Potentially Be Shared With Indian Authorities

Another possibility could arise if Aggarwal is eventually removed from the UK and returns to India.

According to information received by WIC News, findings from any financial investigation in Britain could potentially be shared with relevant Indian authorities if evidence points to matters falling within their jurisdiction.

In such a scenario, India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) could take up the matter and conduct further investigation in India.
