Hyderabad: Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda has extended his support to Jr NTR’s call for strict laws against the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI), after a morphed video involving the song ‘Chuttamalle’ from Jr NTR’s film Devara was circulated on social media.
Vijay Deverakonda strongly condemned those responsible for creating and spreading the alleged morphed video and called for strict legal action against them.
“We have stooped to the levels of absolute lowlife. Whoever is responsible for this should not be spared. They must face the harshest possible legal consequences and be made an example of. We must not let this go,” Vijay said in a post on X while expressing his support for Jr NTR.

The actor questioned the growing misuse of AI to create harmful and degrading content, saying that such technology was being used for “utter nonsense” despite wider concerns over AI’s impact on society and employment.
He described the circulation of such content as the digital equivalent of sexual assault and said the law must treat such acts with utmost seriousness.
Jr NTR seeks stronger AI regulations
Earlier, Jr NTR said he would pursue legal action against those who created and circulated the morphed video. He urged people not to watch, share or engage with such content.
Jr NTR also appealed to state governments and the Government of India to introduce strict regulations against the misuse of AI.
Actress Janhvi Kapoor had also condemned the circulation of AI-generated fake videos and warned that legal action would be taken against those involved.
