Vijay Deverakonda Urges Fans to ‘Never Forget the Cost’ as He Wishes India on Independence Day

Hyderabad: Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda on Saturday extended Independence Day greetings to Indians across the world and urged people to remember the sacrifices made by their forefathers in the country’s struggle for freedom.
Sharing a message on social media, Vijay said Independence Day was a day of celebration as well as remembrance, asking people to “never forget the cost” of freedom.
He also urged people to bring glory to their families and the country while sharing a new poster from his upcoming period action drama ‘Ranabaali’, in which he plays a patriotic character.
Vijay Deverakonda Shares Independence Day Message
Wishing people on the occasion, Vijay wrote about the difficult struggle that India’s forefathers went through to secure freedom and reflected on how far the country has come.
The actor’s Independence Day post also featured a new poster of ‘Ranabaali’, generating excitement among fans awaiting the film.
The film is directed by Rahul Sankrityan and stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles.
Vijay and Rashmika Reunite for Period Action Drama
In ‘Ranabaali’, Vijay plays the titular character, while Rashmika portrays Jayamma, his wife. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, known for his role as Imhotep in The Mummy, plays the antagonist Sir Theodore Hector.
The film is set against the backdrop of the British era and is being made as a large-scale pan-India period action drama.
The makers have described the project as being inspired by historical events from the 19th century. The film is set between 1854 and 1878 and is said to draw from multiple historical accounts and oral histories.
‘Ranabaali’ Marks Vijay-Rashmika’s Third Film Together
‘Ranabaali’ marks the third collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna after their popular films Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade.
Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, with T-Series presenting the film, ‘Ranabaali’ is being mounted on a large scale as a period action drama.
The makers have indicated that the film is not a conventional biopic but a cinematic reconstruction of an era inspired by historical accounts and events.
