Virdee Foundation/ Peter Virdee donated Rs 5,01,000 for Flood Relief Fund

Sardar Harbhajan Singh, father of Peter Virdee, donates Rs 5,01,000 for the Punjab Flood Relief Fund. He handed over the cheque to Editor The Savera Times, Abhishek Vij.

Gurpreet Singh (Gopy) was also present when Mr Sardar Harbhajan Singh handed over a cheque for the flood relief fund.

All 23 districts and over 1400 villages of the state were affected by the flood.

Punjab Floods

The Punjab region experienced devastating floods in 2025 due to an intensified monsoon season. Triggered by heavy pre-monsoon rains starting in June and peaking in late August through September.

The disaster was exacerbated by cloudbursts in upstream areas like Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, leading to overflow in major rivers such as the Ravi, Beas, Sutlej, and Chenab.
