VP Radhakrishnan Hails NEP 2020, Urges Graduates to Contribute to ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’

Mysuru: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan on Sunday praised the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for promoting interdisciplinary learning and flexibility, saying it empowers hardworking students to adapt, innovate, and excel in a changing world.

Speaking at the 16th Convocation Ceremony of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER) in Mysuru, the Vice President urged young graduates to inspire future generations and play an active role in nation-building aligned with the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.

‘Consistency Is the Key to Success’

Radhakrishnan emphasised that consistency and self-awareness are central to achievement, encouraging students to recognise their unique talents and set personal goals in harmony with their individual pace of growth.

Quoting Swami Vivekananda, he exhorted them to “Arise, Awake, and Stop Not Till the Goal is Reached,” underscoring the importance of perseverance and resilience in life’s journey.

Advice on Digital Discipline and Values

The Vice President also urged graduates to practise self-discipline on social media, maintaining a balance between virtual engagement and real-world responsibilities. He called upon them to show respect to parents and to learn positive traits from others while ignoring negativity.

He highlighted Karnataka’s cultural legacy and the recognition of Kannada as a Classical Language, reflecting on the state’s contribution to India’s intellectual and artistic heritage.

‘Knowledge Is the Real Wealth’

Concluding his address, Radhakrishnan invoked ancient wisdom, saying that “Knowledge is the real wealth” and encouraged graduates to carry the light of wisdom forward in service to society and the nation.

2,925 Degrees Awarded

A total of 2,925 students received Degrees, Diplomas, and Fellowships during the convocation. Sixteen Gold Medallists from various disciplines were also felicitated by the Vice President.

The event was attended by Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, Chancellor Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, former Supreme Court Justice Shivaraj V. Patil, and other dignitaries.
