Wagah-Attari Border Beating Retreat Ceremony Timing Shifted to 4:30 PM for Winter Season

Amritsar, November 16: The Border Security Force (BSF) has changed the timing of the famous Beating Retreat ceremony at the Attari-Wagah border. The step has been taken to preserve daylight and ensure the convenience of tourists during the cold weather.

New timing: 4:30 to 5:00 PM

According to BSF officials, the ceremony will now begin at 4:30 PM and end at 5:00 PM. Earlier, it was from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Officials say that with this change, tourists will be able to enjoy the ceremony without any inconvenience due to early sunset and increasing cold in winter.

Tourist safety and convenience kept in mind

Every day, thousands of people flock to the ceremony held between Amritsar and Wagah border. Due to cold winds and low temperatures, many elderly people and children could not attend the late evening ceremony. According to the new timings, the ceremony will be completed before darkness falls and the cold weather sets in, allowing people to return to the city safely.

New timings to be applicable during winter

BSF officials said that the new timings will be applicable for the winter season. The timings may be revised if the weather changes.
