Water touches danger line at railway bridge; 16 trains cancelled

Heavy rainfall across Punjab has significantly disrupted train services. The rail traffic in Punjab falls under the control of Northern Railway (NR) zone. As per the release by Northern Railway, trains were either cancelled or short-terminated following the damage due to heavy rains.

The release said, “Due to water level touching the danger line at  Bridge No-84 between Makhu-Gidarpindi railway stations, the Railway has decided to cancel, short-terminate, short-originate, and divert the trains.”

In total, 16 trains have been cancelled, 6 each have been short-terminated and short originated while 2 have been diverted.
