Dense fog envelops Punjab, alert issued in 18 districts

Chandigarh: After snowfall on the mountains, there is a continuous change in the weather of Punjab and Chandigarh. Along with the fall in night temperature, the day temperature remains colder than normal. According to the Meteorological Department, this change will continue in the coming days. At the same time, the effect of fog will be seen in Punjab-Chandigarh till November 17.

Along with this, an alert has been issued regarding fog in 18 districts of Punjab today. This effect will also be seen on November 16. According to the warning of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of fog in Amritsar, Tarnmaran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, SAS Nagar and Malerkotla.

The cyclone that became active on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border has calmed down but a Western Disturbance has become active again. Due to which there are chances of snowfall on the hills of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. After which the temperature of Punjab will fall and the temperature will reach normal.

It has been almost two months since the air in Punjab-Chandigarh became polluted. At the same time, there is no possibility of rain for the next one week. Meanwhile, the AQI of Chandigarh was recorded at 369, while the maximum touched 475. Similarly, the AQI of Amritsar was recorded at 249, Mandi Gobindgarh at 205. Apart from this, the AQI of all other districts has been recorded below 200.
