Punjab may have to face scorching heat today as well. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding the heat wave.

In the warning issued by the Meteorological Department in Haryana, it has been said that heat wave will continue from 17 to 21 May.

The scorching heat has started in Haryana. In 24 hours, the maximum day temperature has crossed 46 degrees for the first time in the season.

Due to the continuously increasing heat, the mercury crossed 41 degrees on Thursday. Due to this, the nights have become hotter along with the days.

Chandigarh Meteorological Center has issued Yellow Alert for 2 days and Orange Alert on May 18 and 19. According to the department, if the temperature continues to rise in the same way, then the orange alert can be changed to red alert.

Intense heat has commenced in Punjab. Hot winds prevailed in many districts on Tuesday and the maximum temperature reached over 42 degrees Celsius. Faridkot and Pathankot were the hottest. The maximum temperature here was recorded as 42.1 and 42 degrees Celsius respectively.

Scorching heat has started to show its colors in Haryana. The maximum temperature in the state has reached 43.1 degrees in Sirsa. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning that the dry season has now started.

The heat is going to increase in Punjab for the next few days. A heat wave alert has been issued in the state on May 16 and 17.

Himachal, Haryana and Punjab have seen a significant change in the weather due to rain, which has brought relief from the scorching heat.

Heavy rain was recorded in Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla today. There was torrential rain in the city for some time after around 2:30 pm.
