Weak Monsoon in Punjab, less rain increases Sticky Temperature; forecast of rain from tomorrow

Many districts are likely to remain cloudy and receive rain today. However, according to the Meteorological Department, Western Disturbance will become active from tonight. Due to this, heavy rain may occur in many districts from Monday. The department has issued a yellow alert for 12 districts.

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), due to weakening of monsoon in the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain has occurred at different places. Most of the rain has been recorded in Nawanshahr and Khanna of Ludhiana. At the same time, districts adjoining Himachal or hilly areas like Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala and Mohali will have rain alert from Monday. Apart from this, the risk of spreading malaria is also high in this season.
According to the Meteorological Department in twenty days of July, Pathankot, Sangrur and Tarn Taran have received normal rainfall. 12 districts have received less rainfall ranging from 20 mm to 59 mm. These districts include Fazilka, Muktsar, Faridkot, Moga, Barnala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Pathankot. While Ferozepur, Bathinda, SBS Nagar, Rupnagar, Mohali and Fatehgarh Sahib have also received very less rainfall.
