Yellow alert of rain in three districts of Punjab adjoining Himachal Pradesh, temperature dropped by 0.6 degree

Jalandhar: The Metrological department has issue yellow alert of rain in some of Punjab districts today. According to the Meteorological Center (IMD), a yellow alert has been issued to the adjoining districts of hill state Himachal Pradesh i.e in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur and Rupnagar of Punjab.

On Saturday no clouds were seen on sky but at evening most areas of Punjab were covered with clouds. Light rain occurred in Amritsar, Pathankot and Ferozepur. After which the maximum temperature of Punjab dropped by 0.6 degrees and the temperature remained normal.

Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain in Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Fazilka, Muktsar, Bathinda and Mansa. The monsoon, which became sluggish after August 1, is expected to become active on August 6. There is a possibility of good rain once again on Tuesday. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued once again in Punjab on August 7.

Good rain forecast in August 

According to the data received from IMD, there is a possibility of good rain in Punjab in the month of August. In the last 3 days, there has been 30 percent more rain in Punjab. That is, 27.2 mm of rain has occurred, whereas in these three days, usually 20.9 mm of rain occurs.

On the other hand,  there has been 38 percent less rain. From 1 June to 3 August, Punjab usually receives 236.8 mm of rain, whereas in these days, only 146.3 mm of rain has occurred so far.
