Weather to change in Punjab-Chandigarh from today; Light rain and Fog expected for two days

The weather in Punjab and Chandigarh is set to change today (November 4th). A Western Disturbance will be active, bringing light rain to several locations today and tomorrow. The Chandigarh Meteorological Department has predicted this. However, after four days, night temperatures will drop, and the weather will become colder.

Light to moderate fog may also occur in some areas. The state’s average maximum temperature has increased by 0.4 degrees in the last 24 hours, bringing it closer to the average temperature. Mansa was the hottest place, recording a maximum temperature of 32.7 degrees.

248 cases of stubble burning have been reported. Patiala and Khanna have the most polluted air, with an AQI of 214 and 231, respectively.

Rain likely in three districts

Due to the Western Disturbance, some districts bordering Himachal Pradesh may be cloudy today. Rain is also likely in Hoshiarpur, Pathankot, and Gurdaspur. Although the sky is expected to remain clear in Chandigarh on both days, night temperatures will also drop here.

In Punjab, stubble burning incidents continue to escalate, causing air pollution. Meanwhile, the police are also cracking down on those burning stubble. 248 cases of stubble burning have been registered in 16 districts, bringing the total number of cases to 2,518. This has directly impacted air quality. People need to remain vigilant.

Khanna is the most polluted, Rupnagar has the cleanest air.

Stubble burning is affecting Punjab’s climate, polluting the air. At 6 a.m. today, Amritsar’s AQI was 138, Ludhiana’s 209, Bathinda’s 182, Jalandhar’s 197, Khanna’s 231, Mandi Gobindgarh’s 168, and Patiala’s 214. Meanwhile, Rupnagar, adjacent to Himachal Pradesh, has the cleanest air, with an AQI of 96.
