Weather Turns Unstable in Himachal, Rain & Snow Alert for March 28–29

Manali: Weather conditions have shifted again across Himachal Pradesh, with light snowfall reported in higher altitude areas, including mountain passes. Areas like Lahaul and Spiti saw fresh snowfall, with Gondla recording around 1 cm overnight. Snow was also observed on peaks in Kinnaur and Kullu, while Manali received light rainfall.

Rain and Snow Likely to Continue

The weather department has predicted light rain and snowfall in mountainous regions over the next couple of days. Many parts of the state are currently experiencing mixed weather, with clouds in some areas and sunshine in others.

Yellow Alert for March 28–29 Amid Western Disturbance

A Western Disturbance is expected to become active on March 28 and 29, leading to widespread weather changes. Snowfall is likely in higher regions, while lower and mid-hill areas may witness thunderstorms and rain. A yellow alert has been issued for strong winds and lightning.

Temperature Variation Continues Across State

Despite some sunny spells, the cold is still being felt as temperatures have not risen significantly. However, places like Una and Hamirpur (Neri area) recorded maximum temperatures above 30°C. Meanwhile, Kukumsheri recorded a minimum temperature of 1.8°C, with no location currently reporting sub-zero temperatures.
