An active Western Disturbance in Rajasthan is expected to bring thunderstorms and rain to seven districts today. This system will continue to have an impact in the first week of April. The system was most severe on Monday (March 30).

Hailstorms in Kota, Nagaur, Didwana, and Kuchaman damaged crops. This change in weather caused daytime temperatures to drop by up to 6 degrees.

Rabi crops have been damaged in Nagaur district, part of the Shekhawati region. Estimates are currently underway on the extent of crop damage.

In the past 24 hours, heavy rain accompanied by winds lashed several districts of the state. Kota recorded the highest rainfall of 20 mm during the day. Kotakasim in Alwar recorded 5 mm of rain, while Tapukda recorded 3 mm of rain.

Meanwhile, late-night rain and hailstorms in Nagaur, Didwana, and Kuchaman districts damaged crops ready for harvest. Locals reported hailstorms in Dhanari Kalan, Dheharu in Nagaur, and Sanju and Chui in Degana.

At the same time, Manana and Gachhipura areas in the Makrana region of Didwana-Kuchaman district have suffered damage due to hail and rain.

The Isabgol crop was damaged due to hailstorm along with rain in many villages of Degana in Nagaur late on Monday night.

Temperatures Drop, Relief from Heat

The change in weather caused by the storm and rain reduced the heat. On Monday, the maximum temperature dropped by 2 to 6 degrees in many cities, including Sikar, Churu, Pilani, Jaipur, Fatehpur, Jhunjhunu, Alwar, and Kota. Kota and Chittorgarh recorded the highest maximum temperatures at 37 degrees Celsius.

According to the Jaipur Meteorological Center, a yellow alert for rain has been issued for seven districts, including Sikar and Jhunjhunu, on Tuesday (March 31). Meanwhile, the active weather system in Rajasthan will continue to affect the region in April. Rain is expected in the first week. However, the impact of this system will begin to subside within two to three days. After this, the heat will increase.
