What do Class X, Class XII Results say?

Previously, the Punjab School Education Board’s Class 10 results were announced. On Wednesday, the results for the Punjab School Education Board and CBSE’s Class 12 were announced on the same day. These results offer a glimpse into the changing dynamics of the education world and school education. Prior to this, discussions about a new model of schooling have been taking place not only in Punjab and Delhi, but across the country. In Punjab, an education revolution has been formally announced. Its goal is to raise the standard of education in government schools to such an extent that it is no less than that of the best private schools, and no poor person should be troubled by the inability to provide their children with the education afforded by expensive private schools. In fact, the Punjab government has created Schools of Eminence, which you can call smart schools, giving the state’s meritorious students full opportunities to advance. These smart schools now offer students access to all the amenities previously available in expensive private schools. The government has also made every effort to digitalize these schools and has implemented computer education as a compulsory subject. Punjab operates a dual schooling system, with some schools following the CBSE curriculum and others following the Punjab School Education Board. The results clearly indicate that girls have once again maintained their dominance, achieving higher pass percentages and merit percentages than boys. Supneet from Mansa emerged as the topper in the Punjab Board. CBSE, which doesn’t release merit lists these days, simply declares students with scores above 90 percentiles in a single group. However, girls’ dominance has been evident for several years. They consistently lead the way in everything from school exams to competitive job examinations. The second thing these results reveal is that this time, students from rural areas have also demonstrated their prowess, proving their talent and hard work are no less than urban students. This year’s merit list includes students from government schools, whether they are school students or CBSE students who scored above 90 percent, and this also includes students from government schools. This means that the Punjab government’s initiative to raise the standard of government schools and bring them on par with private schools has been successful. Students from Schools of Eminence are among the meritorious students, but when students from ordinary government schools also appear in the merit list, it seems that their personal abilities and hard work also play a role. This time, the evaluation system has also been changed. Taking advantage of the digital method, on-screen evaluation has been introduced. This has made evaluation more objective. Recently, when the new method of objective marking was introduced, students were achieving 100 out of 100. But now, because a balance of objective and subjective questions has been created in the question papers, the evaluation of children has become more neutral. Looking at this year’s results, the pass percentage for students in urban schools is 91.24, while that of rural areas is 91.63. Government schools also achieved a pass percentage of 91.41. Students are assimilating themselves into the new education system. The transformation in school education has begun, enabling the new generation to acquire complete technical knowledge along with education and contribute to the reconstruction of the country.
