Who is SHO Gurinderjit Singh Nagra? Cop named in FBI investigation under extortion case probe

Punjab Police has taken cognizance of reports and social media posts alleging that Inspector Gurinderjit Singh Nagra, posted as SHO at Tanda Police Station in Hoshiarpur district, has been named in the investigation being conducted by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) under “Operation Hardball”.

It is to be noted that pending verification of the facts, Inspector Gurinderjit Singh Nagra has been transferred from Tanda Police Station to Police Lines, Hoshiarpur with immediate effect.

Further, the DIG, Jalandhar Range, has ordered a formal investigation into the matter, which has been handed over to the Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Jalandhar Rural, who is an IPS officer. The investigating officer has been directed to investigate the allegations and all relevant facts and submit a detailed report at the earliest. Based on the results of the investigation, strict action will be taken as per the law if necessary

FBI conducts major operation against gangsters

It is worth noting that the FBI in the US has conducted its biggest operation so far against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. On July 7, the FBI and its partner agencies conducted a major operation in several places, including California in the US, detaining at least 20 people and recovering several contraband items, weapons, and drugs from them

Several wanted gangsters associated with Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, who are living illegally in the US, Canada, and Europe, are not only running their criminal empires in India and extorting money, but are also targeting and extorting money from Indians living in Canada, the US, and Europe.
