Woman’s body found in private hotel in Amritsar, lover accused of strangulation

The body of a 30-year-old woman was found in a hotel in Amritsar. The police received information through a mobile phone, after which there was a commotion. After investigation, the police registered a case against the woman’s lover and started further investigation. The body was handed over to the family after the postmortem.

According to the information, the incident took place in Khullar Guest House. The police received information that a woman’s body was lying in room number 104 of the guest house.

On receiving the information, Inspector Balwinder Singh reached the spot with his team and called a forensic team to inspect the entire room. Videography of the incident site was also done. Then the body was kept in the morgue of the civil hospital for a postmortem.

The case was registered on the statements of the deceased’s brother

The deceased has been identified as Veerpal Kaur (about 30 years old). In a statement given to the police after the incident, her brother, Inderjit Singh alias Sonu, said that Veerpal Kaur was married to Raslal Singh about 7-8 years ago, and they have twin children.

Due to a family dispute, the deceased was living along with her children at her parent’s house.

She left home on November 14, saying she would go to her in-laws’ house

According to Inderjit, Veerpal Kaur left home around 10 am on November 14, saying that she would return after collecting clothes and belongings from her in-laws, but she did not return till evening. Late in the evening, the family received a call informing them that Veerpal Kaur had been strangled to death and her body was found in room number 104 of Khalhar Hotel.

The family alleges that Gurmeet Singh alias Dharam had strangled Veerpal Kaur to death. He left home that day and did not return.
