    Women’s HIL to begin on December 28, men’s league to begin on January 3

    New Delhi: Tickets for the upcoming Men’s Hockey India League (HIL) 2025-26 matches, starting January 3 in Chennai, went live on Thursday. Hockey India has decided to keep the tickets completely free to ensure greater spectator participation.

    Full schedule of the women’s and men’s leagues

    The Women’s Hockey India League will begin in Ranchi on December 28 and run until January 10. Meanwhile, the men’s HIL will begin in Chennai on January 3rd, then in Ranchi from January 11th, and the final leg will be played in hockey’s hub, Bhubaneswar, from January 17th to 26th.

    This year, eight men’s teams and four women’s teams will participate in the league. The fast-paced matches, along with a new and exciting format, will attract spectators.

    Mission to take hockey across the country

    Tickets for the Ranchi leg were made available on Monday. Hockey India’s aim is to take this popular sport to every corner of the country and make it easy and accessible for fans.

    HIL Governing Committee Chairperson Dilip Tirkey said:
    “We have once again decided that tickets for all matches in Chennai, Ranchi, and Bhubaneswar will be free. Our goal is to encourage spectators to come to the stadiums and watch their favorite hockey stars in action. This time, some of the world’s best players will be featured in the league, and we will be able to see great hockey for a whole month.”

    Governing Committee member Bhola Nath Singh said:
    “Hero HIL is a month-long hockey festival. We invite sports lovers to join the #hockeykajashn. Our goal is to expand the reach of hockey fans across the country, and we expect strong attendance at every match this time.”
