Focus on Peaceful Coexistence

The first point of the proposal stresses the importance of peaceful coexistence among countries in the Middle East. China has called on regional nations, especially Gulf states, to strengthen dialogue, improve mutual relations and work towards building a comprehensive and cooperative security framework.

Respect for Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity

The second key principle highlights the need to respect national sovereignty and territorial integrity. China emphasized that the security and independence of all countries in the region must be safeguarded, particularly for developing nations.

Upholding International Law

Another major component of the plan is adherence to international law. Xi stressed that global rules and the principles of the United Nations Charter should be followed consistently to ensure stability and prevent conflicts from escalating.
