    Four killed in Head-on Car-Truck Collision on Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida

    Greater Noida: Four people were killed in a car-truck collision on the Yamuna Expressway in the Jewar police station area of Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, officials said on Monday.

    According to police, the accident occurred on Sunday night when a truck travelling from Noida to Agra lost control, broke through the divider and railing, and collided with a car travelling on the opposite side.

    The impact was severe, leaving the car badly damaged and all four occupants seriously injured.

    Truck breaks through divider, hits car

    Police said the accident took place on August 30, 2026, on the Yamuna Expressway under the Jewar police station area.

    “The accident occurred on August 30, 2026, on the Yamuna Expressway under the Jewar police station area. A Rajasthan-registered truck, travelling from Noida to Agra, suddenly lost control,” officials said.

    “Due to the high speed, the driver lost control of the truck, and it broke through the expressway railing and ended up on the other side,” they added.

    The truck then collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction.

    Four injured occupants declared dead

    Following the collision, panic spread at the scene and bystanders informed the police.

    Jewar police immediately reached the spot, rescued the injured and shifted them to a hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared all four injured people dead during treatment, officials said.

    Police inspected the accident site and began investigating the circumstances that led to the collision.

    Truck driver taken into custody

    According to officials, preliminary information suggests that the truck lost control, although police are also examining other aspects of the accident.

    Following the crash, Jewar police took the truck driver into custody and initiated further legal action.

    Police said traffic movement on the Yamuna Expressway has since been restored to normal.

    Authorities are also gathering information to establish the identities of the deceased and determine other details related to the accident.
