Yamunanagar: Alleged Assault Case Involving School Student Leads to Market Clash and Public Outrage

Yamunanagar: A case involving the molestation of a 10th-grade student and a life-threatening attack on her family has come to light within the jurisdiction of the Sadhaura police station in Yamunanagar. It is alleged that a young man from the same village first entered her home and molested her; when she resisted, he and his accomplices surrounded her four brothers in the market and assaulted them.

Acting on the student’s complaint, the Women’s Police Station has registered a case against the accused identified as Mukesh and 26 others under various sections of the law, including the POCSO Act, and has initiated an investigation.

Had Been Following Her for Days

In her complaint to the police, the victim stated that the accused, Mukesh who is her neighbor had been stalking her for several days and passing lewd comments at her. On multiple occasions, he even grabbed her hand and molested her. The accused threatened to kill her and her family; terrified by these threats, she was unable to confide in anyone.

According to the complaint, on the morning of April 29, between approximately 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM, the accused entered her home while she was alone and began making inappropriate advances toward her. When she resisted, the accused fled the scene after issuing threats. Subsequently, the victim recounted the entire incident to her mother. Following this, her mother went to Mukesh’s house and reprimanded him. In response, Mukesh threatened to “deal with them” later.

25-30 Youths Attack the Victim’s Brothers

The victim states that the matter did not end there. The following day, April 30, her brothers had gone to Sadhaura for some work. While they were there, the accused, Mukesh, arrived with a group of 25 to 30 accomplices armed with sticks and sharp-edged weapons and launched an attack on her brothers.

Student Now Afraid to Even Go to School

Her brothers sustained serious injuries in the attack. As they fled the scene, the accused also issued death threats to the entire family. The victim has stated that she and her family face a constant threat from the accused, a situation that has left her so terrified that she is now afraid to even attend school. The police have registered a case against 26 accused persons, including Mukesh, under Sections 8 and 12 of the POCSO Act and various sections of the BNS.

The police state that efforts to identify and arrest the accused are underway.
