Yamunanagar: Tragic Accident kills Sister-in-Law on the Spot, Husband Critically Injured

On Tuesday morning, a tragic road accident in Gangnagar Colony, located in Jagadhri (Yamunanagar), claimed the lives of two women, including a newlywed bride, while a young man sustained critical injuries. The accident sent a wave of grief through the entire locality.

According to reports, Shivkumar, a resident of Gangnagar Colony, had married 25-year-old Khushboo on April 29. On Tuesday morning, Khushboo, Shivkumar, and his sister (sister-in-law to Khushboo), Pooja, set out to visit the Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple.

It is reported that Khushboo had initially suggested postponing the visit to the following Tuesday; however, Pooja and Shivkumar persuaded her, and the three proceeded toward the temple.

Pooja was originally a native of Itora village in the Mau district of Uttar Pradesh and had been staying at her brother’s home in Gangnagar Colony since the wedding. As the trio reached the vicinity of the Manakpur Industrial Area, a bus belonging to Maharishi Markandeshwar University, approaching from behind, violently collided with their motorcycle.

The impact of the accident was so severe that both Khushboo and Pooja died on the spot, while Shivkumar sustained critical injuries.

According to eyewitnesses, repeated calls were made for an ambulance following the accident, but it failed to arrive in time. Consequently, the injured were transported to the Civil Hospital in Yamunanagar with the help of a private vehicle. Meanwhile, the bus driver claimed that he had lost control of the vehicle.

According to the driver, there were approximately 15 children on board the bus at the time. On the other hand, local residents alleged that this particular bus frequently travels at excessive speeds. Residents stated that complaints regarding this issue have been lodged with the school management on multiple occasions, yet no action has been taken thus far.
