    Yogi Adityanath Performs Rudrabhishek at Gorakhnath Temple on Mahashivratri

    Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday offered prayers at the revered Gorakhnath Temple on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri.

    The Chief Minister, who also serves as the Mahant (head priest) of the temple, performed the Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva following traditional rituals amid the chanting of Vedic mantras.

    Message for Welfare of Humanity

    After the ceremony, CM Yogi shared a message on X, stating:

    “Today, on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, illuminated by the welfare consciousness of restraint, meditation, and Shivatva in Gorakhnath Temple, I performed Rudrabhishek with proper rituals and prayed for the welfare of humanity. Har Har Mahadev!”

    Earlier, he extended greetings to devotees and residents across the state, wishing peace, strength, and auspiciousness in everyoneтАЩs life.

    Mahashivratri Celebrated with Devotion Nationwide

    Mahashivratri, one of the most significant festivals in the Hindu calendar, is observed in reverence to Lord Shiva and commemorates the sacred union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

    Across the country, lakhs of devotees thronged prominent Shiva temples from early morning. Long queues, special rituals, night-long prayers, and holy dips in sacred rivers marked the celebrations.

    Authorities made elaborate security and administrative arrangements to ensure smooth darshan and effective crowd management at major pilgrimage centres.
