Yogi Adityanath Warns Against Excessive Smartphone Use

In Lucknow, CM Yogi Adityanath said that there is tremendous pressure on hospital OPDs today. At King George’s Medical University (KGMU), 12,000 to 14,000 patients visit the OPD daily, while at PGI, this number ranges between 10,000 and 11,000. He said that one can imagine how challenging it becomes for doctors to treat patients when such a large number of patients come to the hospital at the same time.

The CM said that nowadays smartphones are also becoming a cause of many diseases. Using a smartphone for 4 to 6 hours is also a kind of illness. He stated that the heart is the most important organ of the body. When the kidney fails, a person can live with dialysis, but if there is a blockage in the heart, it can prove to be fatal.

The Chief Minister was addressing the National Interventional Council 2026 held at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University on Friday. The event was organized by the Cardiology Society of India. On this occasion, he said that in the past nine years, healthcare services in Uttar Pradesh have expanded extensively.
