Zirakpur: Husband-wife nabbed for consuming drugs in hotel

A case of a husband and wife consuming drugs has come to light. According to information, on Sunday night at the Ramada Hotel, Zirakpur, husband and wife were nabbed by the police. When the police reached the spot and opened room number 112 on receiving information from the hotel management, the woman was found unconscious. First, ASI Rajinder Singh, an employee of the PCR team, reached the spot, while later, the duty officer ASI Sulakhan Singh reached the hotel and took action.

According to the police, the person staying in the room gave his name as Aditya Prapas, son of Prateek Mukherjee (age 27), resident of Badshah Road, Sohna, Gurugram, Hall House No. 4-D, Highland Park Zirakpur. The woman present with him gave her name as Bhavana, wife of Aditya Prapas Mukherjee (age 28).

Both husband and wife consumed heroin 

During the search of the room, the police found a lighter, used foil paper, and cigarette packs. Both admitted that they had consumed heroin. On this, a case number 515 dated 26-10-2025 under Section 27, 61/85 of the NDPS Act was registered against both of them at Zirakpur police station.

During interrogation, the accused said that Aditya is a resident of Kolkata and works in a real estate company in Gurugram, while Bhavana is a resident of Bhiwani (Haryana), who has done MSc Chemistry and is currently pursuing PhD. Both of them had a love marriage about one and a half years ago.

According to the information, Aditya’s father, Prateek Mukherjee, lives in Highland Park, Zirakpur, and is undergoing treatment at Jaypee Hospital, Zirakpur. Both had come to check on their father’s health and stayed at the hotel. The police are also investigating whether they already had heroin or someone supplied it inside or outside the hotel. For this, the CCTV footage of the hotel is being checked.
