New Delhi, April 28: An FIR has been registered against popular folk singer Neha Singh Rathore at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, under 10 sections of the Indian Justice Code 2023 and one section of the IT Act (amended). The name of the person who lodged the FIR is said to be Abhay Singh.
Now, after the FIR was registered, on Monday, 28 April, Neha Singh Rathore released a video on social media and made serious allegations against the government. She claimed that the government is registering an FIR against her to divert people’s attention from the Pahalgam terrorist attack. She asserted that the government was using legal action against her to silence uncomfortable questions and avoid accountability.
Rathore questions the government’s accountability.
Let us tell you that folk singer Neha Singh Rathore released a video on social media saying that “Prime Minister is not God and BJP is not the country. If you have a problem with questions, then leave the government, I will stop asking questions.” “Don’t blame me for your failure. Just like every vote is important in democracy, questions are also important.” “If this is politics, then what is dictatorship?”
क्या ये बात समझना इतना मुश्किल है? pic.twitter.com/mOuKPzYYoF

Rathore, known for her politically charged folk music and outspoken views, accused the government of shifting the focus from the terrorist attack and its aftermath. She criticised the government for taking actions like filing FIRs and issuing notices instead of addressing critical questions. Her question was, “Is this politics? If this is politics, then what is dictatorship?” She alleged that she is being deliberately targeted because she asks difficult and uncomfortable questions to the government.
The FIR came after Rathore’s sharp commentary on the Pahalgam incident, which sparked debates regarding the government’s response to rising terrorism in the region. Many believe the singer’s remarks were aimed at questioning the BJP-led administration’s handling of national security and its failure to prevent such attacks.
Public backlash and support for Neha Rathore
Rathore’s statements have ignited both support and backlash, as her songs and remarks have often stirred political controversy. As the legal process unfolds, it remains to be seen how the controversy will play out and repurcussions it will have on Rathore’s public career and the political landscape.
The incident has further fueled the ongoing tension between the government and critics over the handling of national security, with the Pahalgam attack continuing to dominate political discourse.
