Two JEE mains qualifiers drowned in Ganga at Hanuman Ghat

Two friends drowned in the Ganga River at Hanuman Ghat in Varanasi. Both had qualified JEE Mains. The deceased students have been identified as Aditya Rai (19) and Virat Singh (19).

Varanasi, May 6: Two friends drowned in the Ganga River at Hanuman Ghat in Varanasi. Both had qualified JEE Mains. The deceased students have been identified as Aditya Rai (19) and Virat Singh (19).

Aditya is a resident of Singrauli in Madhya Pradesh, while Virat is a resident of Tubewell Colony, Mirzapur. On receiving the information, Assi Chowki Police and Water Police reached the spot. The NDRF team carried out the rescue operation for about 1 hour and recovered the bodies of both.

All four friends had come to take a bath in the Ganga

Aditya and Virat’s friend Vaibhav Kesarwani told- We had come to Hanuman Ghat to take a bath in the Ganga at 6 am on Tuesday. I said- we will take a bath first, you guys sit here and check your mobile and other stuff. After this, Aadarsh ​​and I went to take a bath.

After a while, we came out after taking a bath. After this, Aditya and Virat went to take a bath. We were sitting on the ghat and talking.

They drowned in front of us…

Vaibhav said that suddenly, we saw Aditya and Virat start drowning. We started shouting loudly to save them. Then people reached there and jumped to save them, but by then, both had drowned.

Then, Assi Police, Water Police and 3 teams of NDRF arrived. After about an hour of search operation, the bodies of both were recovered.

Assi Police Chowki Incharge Parth Tiwari said- Aditya had bleeding on his head. It is possible that his head might have hit a stone after going into the deep water.
