Amritsar: Under the directions and instructions of Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, the different police teams of staff 1 and 2 have achieved great success in arresting 02 persons by tracing the case of theft in the gun house.
The investigation of the case was carried out in a technical & scientific manner from every aspect and the accused Ajit Singh alias Golu and Mandeep Kumar alias Bada were arrested.
During the preliminary investigation, it has come to light that they identified the gun house rack and the route to reach it a few days before carrying out the incident. To carry out the theft, they bought different types of tools and gloves from the market, and to hide their identity, they covered their faces with cloth and also wore gloves on their hands.
09 Guns (DBBL), 03 Pump Action Guns (SBBL), Belt with 21 Cartridges, 01 Kirch, 01 Pair of Gold Nattis and 08 thousand rupees in cash have been recovered.
After committing the theft, they took the help of the railway track to escape from the CCTV footage. They even dug a pit near Sabzi Mandi, Valla and kept the stolen weapons safe in it, and fearing arrest, they left Chandigarh on the same day.
On 04-03-2024, both of them returned to Amritsar, where the team including Inspector Amolkdeep Singh showed great diligence and cleverness in a deliberate manner, and caught them. Arrested accused will be brought to the honorable court and police remand will be obtained and they will be thoroughly questioned about their gang. It is expected that there will be many more revelations from them. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
The arrested accused Ajit Kumar alias Golu had stolen 04 kg 200 grams of gold from the area of police station B-Division Amritsar along with his accomplices and after being arrested in this case he was released from jail on bail in December-2023.
