On 15th Mar’ 2024, BSF Punjab regarding presence of a suspected packet in the border area of Distt Amritsar, an extensive search operation was launched by BSF troops in the morning hours.
During search, at about 09:20 am, the vigilant BSF troops successfully recovered 01 large packet wrapped with transparent adhesive tape. Upon opening the packet, 03 small packets containing following items were found –
a) 02 packets wrapped with yellow adhesive tape containing suspected heroin (gross weight – approximately 3.380 Kgs)
b) 01 packet wrapped with white polythene sheet containing 01 Pistol with 02 magazines.
A metal hook and one illumination ball were found attached with the main packet. The recovery took place in a farming field adjacent to Village kakkar in District Amritsar.
This significant achievement of weapon and narcotics by BSF is a result of a reliable input and highly dedicated efforts by the BSF troops resolute to annihilate the illegal weapon and drug menace from the soil of Punjab.
