Patiala: In Patiala, a person started stealing electronic devices to earn money and was doing maintenance of a mobile tower for 16 years from the tower in a shortcut way. The accused also joined other people in this crime. Patiala Police has arrested 8 members of this gang along with stolen electronic devices worth about one and a half crore rupees.
SSP Patiala Varun Sharma said that Inspector Shaminder Singh of CIA staff and his team have caught this gang. Tool kit, helmet and other equipment prepared for theft have been recovered from the arrested accused.
Among the arrested accused, Subhash Kumar resident of Saran Bihar is the mastermind of the gang, who was currently living in the Shyam Nagar area of Rajpura. Apart from this, Jitendra Kumar, resident of Dada Chauhan Colony Rajpura, Nawazish, resident of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, presently resident of Rajpura, Jaswinder Singh alias Jassi, resident of Rajpura, Harbans Singh, resident of village Mehta, Bathinda, Bhinda Singh, resident of village Paniwala, district Sirsa, Haryana, Mohit Kumar alias Monu, resident of village Bajitpur, district Bijnor, UP, Gaurav Sood alias Deepu, resident of Rajpura have been arrested.
The SSP said that Subhash Kumar used to work in the maintenance of mobile towers from 2004 to 2020. Due to which he was aware that two electronic devices called BTS and RRU are installed on the tower, which control the range of the mobile tower. These electronic devices cost lakhs of rupees. To steal these devices, the accused prepared tool kits, helmets, cutters, safety jackets etc.
After which the accused Jaswinder Singh, Bhinda Singh, Harbans and Mohit used to climb up to 100 meters above the tower and take out these devices. All these accused have stolen these electronic devices from more than 60 mobile towers from Patiala, Rajpura, Faridkot, Abohar, Fazilka, Bathinda. The cost of the electronic devices recovered from these people is about one and a half crore rupees.
The arrested accused Nawazish Khan works as a scrap dealer who used to contact people who bought these electronic devices. After refreshing these electronic devices, he was selling them abroad through e-commerce websites. This entire gang has been arrested from the under bridge of village Kaul on Rajpura Road.
