Inter-State Coordination Conference called between Punjab Police amid terror attacks in Kathua

In the conference, Punjab's DGP and senior officers from the state took part to enhance border security. 

Kathua(J&K): Today in the afternoon, an inter-state coordination conference was held between BSF, J&K Police, Central Agencies, and the Punjab Police in Kathua. Following the series of terror attacks in Kathua, security agencies are on alert. 

Due to a terror attack, conference has been held between the Punjab Police and J&K Police, Central Agencies. It was a highly useful inter-state coordination conference to take cognizance of the terror attack. 

According to sources,  it has also come to light in the meeting that the accused are now using ultra-modern equipment to contact their masters. The use of apps and satellite phones has also increased. At the same time, the accused are using old forest routes. In such a situation, there is a need to remain alert. Apart from this, many other things have been discussed. Also, there was a discussion on increasing contact with the people of the area.

This meeting was held mainly for the enhancement of border security areas and synergy between the two state police forces, i.e., Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. 

In the conference, Punjab’s DGP and senior officers from the state took part to enhance border security. 

According to the officials, in pursuit of enhancing border security and ensuring public safety, foster the exchange of best practices. This endeavour involves leveraging collaborative platforms to facilitate knowledge sharing among the border security agencies discussed in the conference. 

The recent terror attacks across the international border have escalated concerns, prompting the gathering of top officials from Jammu, Punjab Police, and BSF Western Command. 

Jammu and Kashmir saw a series of terror attacks over the past few months. Last month, terrorists fired upon a bus carrying pilgrims, causing it to plunge into a gorge in Reasi district, resulting in nine fatalities.
