Chandigarh: Apart from Chandigarh, the Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert in 17 districts of Punjab. It is estimated that fog may remain in most areas on Sunday morning. At the same time, a new western disturbance has become active yesterday. Its turf is being seen from Gujarat to Punjab-Rajasthan border. Its effect will also be seen in Punjab and there are chances of rain in the coming days.
Yellow alert for fog is issued in Chandigarh. Warning of dense fog has been issued in 17 districts of Punjab. These include Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, Patiala and Malerkotla districts. Visibility here can be around 50 meters.
Cold-wave alert has been issued in 8 districts. Temperatures are expected to remain below normal in Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Barnala and Mansa.
Western disturbances become active
Two new Western Disturbances (WD) have become active from Saturday, January 18. The first Western Disturbance is in the border of Iran, while the second is active in the turf form from Gujarat to Punjab-Rajasthan border. Its effect will be seen in the plains of Punjab on January 21.
There are chances of rain in Punjab from January 21 to January 23. Rain is expected in some areas of Punjab on January 21 and 23 and in most areas of Punjab on January 22.
